Magnetopause is the transition place from the solar wind plasma to the earth magnetoshere. The position of the magnetopause is essential in understanding the magnetospheric response to the impact of the solar wind. Due to the application in space weather research, models of the magneopause draw a lot of attention recently. However, The high latitude magnetopause has scarcely been studied compared to the region around the subsolar point. Only a few satellites such as HEOS-2, Prognoz-7, Hawkeye and Polar have made in-situ observation in the high-latitude magnetopause regions where the proposed entry for the northward IMF takes place. Based on the cluster and Double-Star observations, the accuracy and stability of Shue model and Petrinec model are evaluated both at low and high-latitude, respectively. At low-latitude and nightside magnetopause, both models have good agreement with the data, with Shue model slightly better than the other one. However, at high-latitude magnetopause, neither model fitted well with the observed magnetopause crossing events. The IMF and the clock angle effect on the standoff distances and eccentricity for high-latitude magnetopause has been studied. It is shown that the standoff distance is smaller and the eccentricity is greater for southward IMF than those at northward IMF conditions, and for high clock angles than those for small clock angles
