An asymptotic relation between density and potential perturbations is given for spiral galaxies with at least two spiral arms. The relation is uniformly valid for any arbitrary pitch angle. The derivation of the relation is presented, including equations describing the relationship between the complex amplitudes of the potential perturbation and the density perturbation for small and large pitch angles.
