Scientific paper

Attention is drawn to an anonymous open cluster centred only 1 arcmin
northeast of and surrounding the long period Cepheid S Vul. The cluster
is delineated by star counts, and its distance is estimated to be
≡3.8±1.2 kpc from its Trumpler type and angular diameter.
The cluster may be physically associated with S Vul.
