Circular strings on a de Sitter background are considered in two different models of superconducting strings. A geometrical approach to the derivation of the equations of motion is given and applied to these cases. In the cases studied here, the systems reduce to two-dimensional, autonomous Hamiltonian dynamical systems with either one or two free dimensionless parameters. Exploiting the Hamiltonian structure of the second system, which contains the first one as a special case, the complete bifurcation diagram and the corresponding phase portraits are constructed thereby providing a comprehensive understanding of the dynamics of our systems.
