Observations from the August 10, 1980 solar eclipse over South America are reported. Data from photographic observations, photometric measurements, and estimates of the solar radius were collected. A temperature drop of 3 K was measured at Calamarca 20 cm above the ground, and in Guaqui a decrease from 19 to 9 C, measured 2 m above the ground is reported. Strong wind turbulence hindered the determination of a true moon profile. The movement of the moon was discerned in a sequence of ten exposures lasting 3 sec. The duration of the ring phase was measured at 2 min 50 sec.
