It is shown that idealized dissipative quasi-spherical accretion onto a
Schwarzschild black hole can reach a maximum efficiency of 22%. The
idealization considered is the collision of two oppositely directed
matter streams, where any velocity of the center of mass is purely
radial. Arguments to support the result achieved are presented.
