Previous analytical results (Erdi 1979) concerning the long-periodic perturbations of the eccentricity and of the longitude of the perihelion of Trojan asteroids are compared with numerical integration of the equations of motion of the corresponding plane elliptic restricted three-body problem. Thirty asteroids around the Lagrangian points L4 and L5 are tested. The periodicity of the eccentricity is approximately 3600 yr. The perihelion circulates (20 asteroids) or librates (ten asteroids) with the same period. There is good agreement between the analytical and numerical results.
