A method for obtaining statistical polarization ellipses (SPEs) of Pc3 pulsations at high latitudes is verified by an analysis of data obtained at three stations in northern Finland. The polarization of the external field of the pulsations is shown to have a dominant effect on SPE characteristics at high latitudes. Results point to the complexity of constructing an SPE that could represent the anomalous structure of geoelectric irregularities at high latitudes near current systems of geomagnetic pulsations.
