Photoelectric UBV photometric observations of 236 mainly Southern Hemisphere quasars and quasar candidates, obtained using the equipment and reduction procedures described by Adam (1978) on the 1-m telescope at ESO on 34 nights during 1977-1980, are reported. The data are presented in tables and graphs and briefly characterized. Of the candidates, 164 have been confirmed spectroscopically as quasars (including five near the ZAMS), while 35 have been classified as probable main-sequence stars.
