Infrared telescopic measurements of the angular region around the center of the Milky Way galaxy are analyzed. The measurements cited were made at 2.2 and 10 microns. Many of the features mapped at 2.2 microns are not present at 10 microns. It has been concluded by previous workers that some of these features correspond to the dense galactic core. Radioastronomical observations have shown this core to be made up of ionized gas, molecular clouds, and the remains of supernovae.
