A major difficulty in obtaining information on nuclear interactions from data on extensive air showers is the arbitrary nature of the selection of parameters for a model of an elementary nuclear interaction event. Based on contemporary data, an attempt is made to eliminate this arbitrariness for a range of energies that are essential for extensive air showers.
