The radio astronomy satellite HALCA, launched in February 1997, is the main element of the VLBI Space Observatory Program (VSOP) which enables images to be made at 1.6 GHz and 5 GHz with resolutions up to three times higher than can be obtained from ground VLBI. Most VSOP observations are of compact, radio-loud flat-spectrum extragalactic sources, with many of the identified CGRO gamma-ray sources already having been observed. In this paper VSOP observations of gamma-ray sources are reviewed. .
