Contributions related to the techniques presently used in gamma-ray astronomy are reviewed for the high, very high, and ultrahigh energy regions (3 x 10 to the 6th to 10 the 16 eV). The techniques available, based largely on SAS-2, COS-B, and HEAO-1 data, are classified according to the source. High-energy sources include Cygnus X-3, Crab pulsar and nebula, Vela pulsar, and Geminga and other unidentified COS-B sources. Diffuse high-energy gamma-rays are also considered.
