Geological topics, including the effects of weathering on Martian geology, the distribution and physical nature of surface debris, eolian processes, bedrock geology, and impact craters on Mars are reviewed. The papers were given at the Mars colloquium at the California Institute of Technology in August, 1981. Consideration was focused on channel formation, subsurface water migration, simulation of Martian ejecta patterns, and sedimentation at the poles. UV and frost weathering models were examined for the breakdown of surface materials. The outflow channels and branching valleys were judged to be of great age, and suggestions were offered for the formative processes.
