A multi-time formalism is adapted to the problem of multimode stellar pulsation with slow thermal evolution. The original system of differential equations in time t of order 3 N, where N is the number of zones, is reduced to a system of order N + p in a slow (thermal) time variable, where p is the number of simultaneously excited normal modes. In particular, the formalism is expected to be fruitful for the problems of modal selection, as well as for the search for stable double-mode pulsators.
