New observations of the A-type central star of the planetary nebula NGC 2346 have confirmed that it is a single-lined spectroscopic binary with a period of 16 days. The gamma-velocity of the system is shown to coincide with the nebular velocity; therefore, there is good reason to assume that the binary and the nebula are associated. On the other hand, there is observational evidence that the nebula is more reddened than the A-type star. An explanation based on the bipolar structure of the nebula is discussed.
