The 44 known observations of Nereid, the second satellite of Neptune,
are used to determine its mean elements on the basis of a previously
published (Mignard, 1975) gravitational theory which includes solar
disturbances. As a consequence of this study, the mass of Neptune is
found to be 19,402 + or - 110.
