Scientific paper
Twenty centimeter VLA maps are presented for six radio sources which have been identified in the literature as probable BL Lacertae objects. The source 0957+227, whose optical counterpart shows no emission lines, is a double with heavily resolved components. Also observed were four objects identified by Zotov and Tapia as BL Lacertids from polarization measurements of suggested optical counterparts. Our radio positions indicate that three of these four identifications are incorrect. The correctly identified object, 2201+171, consists of a single source with a 4" jet extending to the west. Finally, the source 1400+162, identified by Baldwin et al. as a BL Lacertae object in a group of galaxies, was found to be a bent, heavily resolved triple radio source. This source appears to be a wide-angle radio tail, and we suggest that its distortion is due to interaction with the intracluster medium.
