The equivalent widths of singlet N IV lines are calculated for non-LTE static plane-parallel model-atmosphere grids, using the NONLTE-2 program (Sakhibullin and Kazan, 1982; Solov'eva and Kazan, 1982). The results are presented in graphs and tables and discussed. Non-LTE phenomena are identified in the formation of the 1718, 955, 6381, and 4958-A lines, and the mechanisms underlying the transition to non-LTE on the 2p, 3p, 3s, and 3d levels are explored. Applications to observations of O stars are suggested.
