The variable star CH Cyg is characterized on the basis of published photometric and spectroscopic observations. The data are presented in tables ang graphs, and CH Cyg is identified as a binary system comprising a gM6 star with mass = 2.7 solar mass, log (luminosity/solar luminosity) = 3.84, Teff = 2850 + or - 120 K, theta = 9.8 + or - 1.5 marsec, and R = 340 + or 35 solar radius and a hot C-O dwarf of mass 1.4 solar mass, radius 0.003 solar radius, and envelope pseudophotosphere radius 4 solar radius. It is pointed out that the phase dependence of radial-velocity estimates based on the forbidden lines of O I precludes their use as indicators of center-of-mass velocity.
