The chemical composition of five giant stars in the globular cluster M55 has been determined from the analysis of high-resolution echelle spectrograms in both the red and the blue spectral regions. The overall iron-peak abundances are [m/H] = -1.3±0.1. The abundances of the very heavy elements follow a pattern similar to the solar composition. Carbon in these giants is deficient relative to the iron-peak elements by about a factor of 4.
