We derive the creep compliance tensor of a chain consisting of grains whose mechanical properties are viscoelastic. The stress-strain relation of a dust chain is formulated taking account of stretching, sliding, and rolling motions of the adjacent grains composing the chain. The present formulation is applicable to any shape and length of a chain composed of various sized grains and with any linear viscoelastic properties of the grains.
