The RXTE All Sky Monitor has detected a new outburst in RX J1709.5-2639 (= XTE J1709-267), a recurrent X-ray transient and a source of type I X-ray bursts (see Atels 255, 262). A detection of 31 +/- 8 mCrab (2-12 keV) was made on 2007 Nov. 17, and the intensity gradually increased to 80 +/- 9 mCrab on Nov. 21 and 86 +/- 17 mCrab on Nov. 22. These results continue the trend for a 2-3 year recurrence time for this X-ray transient.
