Based on numerical integration of the equations of motion for the Jovian satellite J34 (Euporie), we describe the main peculiarities of the variations in its orbital elements in a time interval of 1000 years. We consider the various mathematical models that are used to study the evolution of distant satellite orbits. We give qualitative and approximate quantitative descriptions of the bounded variation in the argument of pericenter for the orbit of Euporie. We show that its libration is not related to the Lidov-Kozai resonance, but is attributable to periodic solar perturbations of an unusually large amplitude.
