ANTARES is a deep-underwater neutrino telescope project. The planned apparatus consists of an array of photomultipliers, arranged in a lattice near the sea bed at a depth of 2400 m, to detect the Cherenkov light from muons produced by neutrino in the seawater and rock beneath. A good water transparency allows an angular resolution of few tenth of degree necessary for the search of point-like cosmic neutrino sources. Detection of the muon neutrino with energy below 50 GeV would provide sensitivity to neutrino oscillation phenomenon recently reported by Super-Kamiokande experiment. .
