Dr. Christian Knigge (University of Southampton, England) has requested optical monitoring by AAVSO observers of 10 dwarf nova-type cataclysmic variables (RX And, U Gem, SU UMa, YZ Cnc, Z Cam, SY Cnc, EX Dra, EM Cyg, AB Dra, SS Cyg) to determine outburst start times in order to trigger target-of-opportunity observations with the NRAO VLA and Jodrell Bank MERLIN radio telescopes. The goal of the observations is to see whether these systems exhibit radio jet formation similar to that observed in x-ray bursters and other x-ray binaries. Data submitted to the AAVSO may be found at www.aavso.org.
