New deep v, g, and r SIT frames of 23 low-redshift quasars, mostly selected by their strong radio emission, are presented. Seventeen quasars with redshifts up to 0.4 are resolved, and the extended nebulosity is analyzed as was done previously for a group of X-ray-selected quasars. Assuming that the extended emission is starlight, it is found that, when the underlying galaxy is associated with a radio-quiet quasar, it has the color, size, surface brightness, and scale length of a normal spiral galaxy. In contrast, the host galaxies of radio loud quasars are larger and appear to be bright elliptical galaxies.
