A color-magnitude diagram for 184 stars (V less than 17) in the central part of M30 (r in the 0-30 arcsec range) is presented. B and V radial variations of surface brightness are also presented. A slight color gradient is detectable in the investigated part of this cluster. An observed central brightness excess is confirmed by computing sampling errors.
