In order to support the ATV Flight software architectural design phase, EADS Launch Vehicles has developed the so-called "Cyclic Management Tool" particularly adapted to the embedded flight software tuning. This tool accesses to the architectural design by skimming the HOOD design, and allows to capture all the complementary information necessary to the complete SW real-time description (services CPU loads, processing periodicities and sequencing). Considering diverse vehicle configurations, it then verifies that the design choices are coherent with the external SW constraints. A report containing the results of these checks is generated and inserted into the onboard software architectural design document.
