The abundance anomalies of the CP star HR 6000 (He-w, Te = 14,000 K, log g = 4), obtained from a previous UV analysis (Castelli et al., 1984), are compared with the optical values and with those of other peculiar stars. The slight overabundance of Ga, the strong underabundance of Sc, the doubtful presence of Hg and the very peculiar behaviour of Si make it difficult to classify this star in one of the typical CP groups. The underabundance of Si and the presence of circumstellar (or interstellar) components on the short wavelength side of the resonance lines of C II, O I, Mg II, Si II, and Fe II are discussed.
