We will make explicit the coordinates of the projection
$S^2(S^r(\C^2))\rightarrow S^{2r-4m}(\C^2)$. They form a linear system of
quadrics in $\PP S^r(\C^2)^\vee$. We will study their \emph{base locus} and
their relationship with the geometry of the Veronese curve. This work is
relevant to deformation theory.
