We study the fibration of flat augmented link complements: simple
combinatorial conditions on the diagram imply that these links fiber. We
further show that certain surgeries on these links produce fibered manifolds.
This is then used to prove that within a very large class of links, called
locally alternating augmented links, every link is fibered.
