Bohdan Paczy'nski was one of the pioneers of the cosmological GRB model. His
ideas on how GRBs operate and what are their progenitors have dominated the
field of GRBs in the hectic nineties during which the distances and the origin
of GRBs were revealed. I discuss here Bohdan's contributions in some historical
perspective.
