The RVS instrument aboard GAIA is a slitless spectrograph, so some spectral
tracing overlap is inevitable. We show that this background can be accurately
modeled and subtracted. Radial velocity accuracy is not degraded significantly
unless the star density is higher than the value typical for the Galactic
plane.
