We classify six-dimensional exceptional quotient singularities and show that
seven-dimensional exceptional quotient singularities do not exist. Inter alia
we prove that the irreducible six-dimensional projective representation of the
sporadic simple Hall--Janko group gives rise to an exceptional quotient
singularity.
