Turbulent dynamo theory (TDT) is applied to explain the observed radial dependence of the azimuthal magnetic field of the Galaxy. Observational data on the azimuthal, radial, and vertical components are presented in tables and analyzed. It is found that the data support an axisymmetric shape corresponding to azimuthal mode m = 0, while the magnetic-field configuration near the spiral arms is in good agreement with the TDT radial field equation, with the two field reversals corresponding to radial modes n = 0, 1, and 2. Above and below the Galactic plane, the magnetic field is well described by the lowest (p = 0) vertical mode of the TDT.
