Periodicities have been searched for a large sample of type III groups (58) observed with high time resolution and at five discrete frequencies. The presence of periodicities between 1 to 6 s in a large number of detected type III groups is confirmed. Many groups exhibit more than one periodicity with a confidence level greater than 90 percent. The type III groups can be separated in two distinct classes, one which is weakly polarized and exhibits periodicities in the whole observed range, the other which is strongly polarized, with small geometrical size and only short periodicities (not greater than about 2 s).
