We present new results from a campaign of optical observations at Las Campanas for the galaxies Cen A and M83. Our observations include narrow-band images of these galaxies in the wavelengths of OII, OIII, SII, and H-alpha, and H-beta. We have analyzed the images using new algorithms for star-removal, and include information on trends in line ratios and extinction within the galaxies. For the galaxy M83, we present trends in line ratios as a function of extinction of HII regions within the galaxy, and as a function of radius. The line ratios are analyzed to produce estimates of density, oxygen abundance, and extinction across the galaxy. For Cen A, we present new observations of diffuse emission far from the central region of the galaxy associated with highly ionized clumps of gas illuminated by the jet within Cen A. Our wide-field observations provide new information on the morphology of the extended optical features in the vicinity of Cen A, and we present new line ratio analysis to contstrain the density of the clumps of gas.
