We present optical ([S II] & Hα ) and near infrared images (H2 2.12μ m), as well as spectra, of two new Herbig-Haro (HH) objects in the L1617 molecular cloud, now named HH 490 and 491. The objects are found nearby the two well known HH 110 and 111 flows. HH 490 lies at ˜ 4′ .5 south of HH 110 and there is the posibility that they are members of the same outflow, although without a detailed kinematical information is difficult to be certain. HH 491 lies at ˜ 5′ north of HH 110 with a position angle similar to that of the nearby H2 outflow IRAS 05487+0255, which suggests that both flows could be related. The objects were originally discovered in the NIR, but their shock excited nature has been confirmed using spectra and optical images.
ANC's research was carried out at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, California Institute of Technology, under a contract with NASA; and partially supported by NASA-APD Grant NRA0001-ADP-096.
