We present broad band photometry of the very rich open cluster M37 to re-evaluate its fundamental parameters. Observations were made during 2002 February in the U, B, V, R, I filters with the WIYN 0.9m telescope in a central 20'x20' field. PSF photometry was performed using DAOPHOT, allowing for spatially-dependent PSF's and aperture corrections. Using all of U-B, U-V, U-R, and U-I vs B-V color-color diagrams, we find E(B-V) = 0.23+/-0.01+/-sys and [Fe/H] = -0.20+/-0.05+/-sys. Application of Yale- Yonsei isochrones to multiple color-magnitude diagrams yields m-M = 11.22+/-0.12+/-sys and an age of 530+/-40Myr. The relationship between metallicity and Galactic radius in the solar neighborhood is discussed. This REU (Indiana Site) project falls under the auspices of the WIYN Open Cluster Study (WOCS), a collabration between Indiana University, Yale University, the University of Wisconsin, and the National Optical Astronomical Obsevatory (NOAO). This work is supported by NSF Grants AST-0139617 and AST-0206202.
