We present new results of our intensive OVRO observing campaign to map the molecular gas content of the Local Group galaxy IC 10 (15 pointing mosaic). Quite surprisingly, molecular gas was detected in the very outskirts, far away from the optical body of the galaxy. This finding implies that stars may form in dwarf irregular galaxies at large galactocentric radii. No clear correlation of the position of CO emission with HI and/or current regions of star formation is found. This stresses the irregular nature of dwarf galaxies. Our high spatial (10 pc) and velocity (0.6 km/s) resolution enable us to derive the conversion (`X') factor of individual molecular clouds in this metal-poor galaxy.
