As the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) filter system gains acceptance in the community, the need for standard stars in the southern hemisphere becomes more apparent. Further, these filters are in use or planned for several large projects such as LSST and HST-ACS. In this paper, we describe the NOAO Survey project to create a uniform set of southern hemsphere standard stars for the SDSS u'g'r'i'z' filter system. We will examine: the project timeline; selection and placement of the fields; observation techniques; the reduction software and pipelines; summarize progress to date; and describe community access to the data. This project is supported by the National Science Foundation grant AST-00-98401.
