We present early results from an observational campaign to investigate the properties of water masers associated with Herbig Ae/Be stars. Two epochs of VLA observations on several objects have been obtained. In particular, we have observed V1318S, V645 Cyg, PV Cep, LK Hα 234, BD+40o4124, R Mon and W166. We present accurate positions and spectra for the water masers detected. Additionally, observations towards the evolved star U Equ were obtained at the end of one of the VLA epochs and no water masers were found to be associated with this star. BD+40o4124 was found to have a peak flux (VLSR= 5 km/s) in excess of 100 Jy and to be located at a position of RA 20h 20m 30.59s, Dec. +41o 21' 26.270" (2000.0). LkHα 234 was found to have a peak flux in excess of 90 Jy (VLSR= -11 km/s) and to be located at a position of RA 21h 43m 06.33s, Dec. +66o 06' 55.807" . The maser spots do show some variation in position with velocity on the order of 100 mas in both sources, although this value is uncertain given the observing configuration of the VLA and the observing conditions for one of the epochs. A dynamically scheduled VLBA experiment is currently ``in queue" to investigate the exact distribution of masers near these two sources and should be completed before January 2003. We will hopefully present the results from this currently queued experiment. This work has been carried out with the generous support of the American Astronomical Society and through the National Science Foundation's support of the National Radio Astronomy Observatory and especially the Very Large Array and Very Long Baseline Array. KBM thanks TEK for her continued support and encouragement.
