We have carried out a series of numerical simulations designed to explore the morphology and kinematics of high velocity clumps propagating through circumstellar media and subject to radiative cooling. In particular, we are interested in applications to the "knots" and "strings" seen in the homunculus of η Carinae. Our simulations follow the evolution of a single clump driven through a constant density ISM. We track the evolution of both the clump and the surrounding media well into the fragmentation regime. The hydrodynamic equations are solved using a new Adaptive Mesh Refinement code BEARCLAW. We also follow the time evolution of the ionization state of plasma and consider the associated microphysical processes to determine the radiative energy losses.
