Using a combination of the GSC2.3 and 2MASS catalogs, the MARVELS project selects targets for an exoplanet survey of a wide variety of stars (giants and dwarfs). We pre-select targets using a V magnitude cut (7.6 < V < 13) and a color cut of J-K < 0.29. Next, we use single-epoch low-resolution spectra to determine the spectral parameters of most pre-selected targets, and determine a final target set optimized for both a wide range of parameters and RV observability. We present the locations of fields we have already surveyed, as well as the number of targets. This work was supported by the Vanderbilt Institute in Data-intensive Astrophysics, the W.M.
