We present the first results from a study of intermediate redshift, passively-evolving galaxies selected in the GOODS-South field from near-infrared imaging with Wide Field Camera 3. These data were obtained as part of the Early Release Science program (PropID: 11359) and cover 40 square arcmin in three near-ultraviolet and three near-infrared bandpasses. When combined with the GOODS optical imaging, the complete photometric catalog contains 10-bands from 220 nanometers to 1.6 microns, all with HST resolution, with which we characterize the SEDs with simple stellar population synthesis models. Additionally, we determine several morphological parameters from GalFit models to the WFC3 H-band imaging, which at these redshifts, roughly samples the rest-frame V-band.
This work is based on Early Release Science observations made by the WFC3 Scientific Oversight Committee. We are grateful to the Director of the Space Telescope Science Institute for awarding Director's Discretionary time for this program. Support for program #11359 was provided by NASA through a grant from the Space Telescope Science Institute, which is operated by the Association of Universities for Research in Astronomy, Inc., under NASA contract NAS 5-26555.
