Techniques of classical and computer tomography are examined with reference to the solution of a large class of inverse radio and acoustic sounding problems. Applications of tomography to the introscopy of radio-transparent and acoustically transparent structures are discussed. Attention is also given to nontraditional applications of tomography, i.e., selective radio-acoustic imaging, superhigh-resolution radiohydrolocation, and radio astronomy.
