The possibility of a spontaneous gauge symmetry breaking in the theory of the self-interacting charged scalar field is discussed for the massive as well as for the massless cases in the cosmological models of Gödel and Ozsvath-Schücking. Applications of the effect of spontaneous symmetry breaking to the construction of a new cosmological solution with rotation are considered.
