Consequences of a stellar collapse with a moderately rotating core are studied. If one assumes a core rotation corresponding to q = Jc/GM-squared of about 3 with J the total angular momentum and M the gravitational mass of the core, the core collapse is likely to leave protoneutron stars a binary which coalesces in several seconds emitting the gravitational radiation. Characteristically this scenario yields two bursts of the neutrino emission a few seconds apart, one at the time of the collapse and the other at the coalescence, as indicated by the Kamiokande observation for SN 1987A. Some implications for future observations are also mentioned.
