It has been suggested by Coe et al. (1976) that anticorrelated spectral variability, perhaps resulting from inverse Compton scattering in the accretion disk may be common to X-ray emitting binary systems which contain black holes. A description is presented of an investigation which attempts to show that anticorrelated variability is not confined to sources which are black hole candidates. Spectral variability plots for black hole candidates are presented in a graph. Another graph shows spectral variability plots for Cyg X-3, Her X-1, Cen X-3, and Cir X-1.
